The RCIA - the Rite of the Christian Initiation of Adults.

- is the way in which adults are admitted to the Catholic Church.  It is a restoration of the ancient practice of initiation into the Church:  a process of discerning and celebrating stages of conversion, leading to the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist.  The RCIA empowers men and women for lives of service, charity and justice as witnesses to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and to the reign of God.

St. Peter & St Paul’s parish community, through its witness, worship, service and catechesis, offers the invitation and support for people to be initiated into the Church.

From the first moment that anyone raises questions like:

Who is Jesus Christ? - What is the Catholic Church?  - What is God saying to me?

We begin what we call our faith journey.

The Journey of Faith is marked by different stages:

  • asking questions or enquiring about God or the Church;

  • allowing our lives to be enlightened by the Gospel of Jesus Christ;

  • growing and maturing in faith.

 Those who embark on this journey challenge the parish by asking questions of us:

Why are you Catholic?   What do you believe?  Why do you believe?

Why would I be happier if I joined your community?     How is God alive here?

So if you:

  • Are thinking of becoming a Catholic.

  • Have ever wondered if the Catholic Faith might be for you.

  • Are already a Catholic and come to Mass, but feel left on the fringe of things.

  • Would like to know what it means to be a Catholic Christian.

  • Feel the need to grow and mature in Faith

  • Would like to learn more without any obligation.

  • Are asked about your Faith or the Church.

  • Have questions or topics you would like discussed.

You would be welcome at our Journey of Faith sessions.  You can learn the answers to these questions and more.  Visitors are not just welcome - they are expected.
